This piece of yours is a real thinker. I agree with what you said about art and public personas. Yet, the most interesting is what you wrote about yourself. That we create these personas, an image how we want others to think about us. These aren’t lies but not exactly the truth either. We omit, hold back, and shape opinions to not to come off too strong. But what if we did?
Lately I’m trying to hold back less and less, even if that triggers some harsher and controversial reactions. I mean, if we build an image for others to like us, which isn’t the full truth, if we can’t be honest and vulnerable in our writing, then what’s the point at all?
