It’s difficult to find words beyond ‘I’m sorry for your loss.’ There is a film called Our Friend, in which there’s a scene when the protagonist tells his best friend how grateful he is for him. That’s what I was reminded of when you talked about your brother stepping next to you on the podium to give you strength.

There’s a lot in this piece I resonated with – mainly because I wanted to get away from home too, only to realize how much my parents and my brother supported me all along. And that I’d be miserable without them.
