I lived in a flat for over 7 years where my little room felt like a sauna during hot summer days. It was unbearable. I tried many tricks, but as for you, only the cold showers helped me to survive.

Summers aren’t too bad here in the Uk, so AC isn’t a necessity most of the times. But I remember going to work on some days where there was an AC, which felt like a gift. The new flat I currently live in is quite cold so it doesn’t need an AC, thankfully.

I get what you say about privilege, but as you mentioned, certain places like schools etc. should really have AC from the get go if it’s necessary.
