Bateman was perfectly cast. He doesn’t get enough credit for this role. But the twist entirely negated his character and his role in the story. Based on the first hour, and the connection/bond Hancock and Bateman’s PR guy developed, the twist completely erased that.

But I partially agree with you. They could’ve kept this twist if delivered differently (with a proper exposition and execution). And yes, the lack of a real villain was palpable.
